Park Flicks 2020

Park Flicks is back!

A series of four awesome documentaries to nurture your soul and give you food for thought, Park Flicks is FREE and everyone is invited!

Like last year, the Collective had the honour of working with Tom Vincent, curator of film for the Perth International Festival, to pick important and inspiring documentaries to bring to Vic Park.

This time, we are partnering with two local community organisations: Wirrpanda Foundation and Vic Park Centre for the Arts.

Made possible by a Place Grant from the Town of Victoria Park and lots of volunteer hours from the Vic Park Collective, Park Flicks will take place on Saturdays in March in various open spaces around town.

Bring your picnic rug, enjoy our public parks with friends, and catch one - or four - awesome docos under the stars!

Park Flicks 2020: POSTPONED

It is with great sadness that we must postponed our final two Park Flicks events.

These postponements are an indirect result of the current public health situation; one of our vital partners has succumbed to the increasingly difficult economic situation and have decided to close their business down. The Vic Park Collective takes great pride in working with small businesses at every available opportunity, as we believe that it is imperative to maintain diversity in the local business landscape and to retain the collective economic wealth within a community. We strongly urge all of you, especially now, to make the effort to support small, local businesses wherever you can.

The Vic Park Collective will continue to bring you great events and projects in the future, so please go on following along with us and throw your support behind our people and partners into the future!

Park Flicks Summer 2019

At the end of Summer 2019 the Vic Park Collective proudly brought Park Flicks to the community for the first time. We delivered a series of four awesome documentaries to nurture your soul and give you food for thought. Park Flicks was FREE and everyone was invited!

We partnered with key community organisations around town to screen recent, first-class films that entertain and touch on issues related to urbanism, multiculturalism and ageing. The films were screened on parks and reserves in four different suburbs within the Town – Parham Reserve in Carlisle, John Macmillan Park in East Vic Park, Memorial Gardens in Vic Park and Rayment Park in Lathlain.

Park Flicks was proud to partner with the Victoria Park Community Centre, Connect Victoria Park and the Wirrpanda Foundation.

The original series was funded by the Town of Victoria Park through its Community Grants program.

Park Flicks Winter 2019

After our inaugural Summer Series in February and March 2019, Park Flicks returned in Winter with a great line-up of films to nurture the soul and give us food for thought.

The Vic Park Collective was thrilled to partner with the Vic Park Community Centre to screen three first-class films in August, curated by Tom Vincent from the Perth International Festival and touching on topics such as community action for the environment, mental health and what makes us happy, and the power of multicultural friendships.
