summer street party 2015

In late 2015 the Town of Victoria Park decided to rebrand and rejuvenate the annual Christmas Street Mall. After winning the tender, The Vic Park Collective was proud to partner with Upbeat Events to deliver this inaugural event. The Summer Street Party was a massive success and captured all the energy, fun and diversity Victoria Park has to offer.

The street party, along Albany Highway between Mint and Dane streets in East Victoria Park, drew more than 35,000 people on November 29, 2015 with a mix of live music, food, family fun, art attractions and market stalls.

Among the attractions were three entertainment stages hosting local bands, dancers and DJs, a man-made Mexican-themed beach with sand and umbrellas, a silent disco, three pop-up bars, a laneway bar, beach bar and street performers, street-eats and stalls.

The event also featured the touring inflatable artwork Octopied by international artist Luke Egan (aka Filthy Luker) which had locals doing double-takes as it took over the top floor of the Balmoral Hotel.

“Wow. Just wow. The Victoria Park Street Party went off like a frog in a sock!

In a monumental leap from last year this event has metamorphosed.

We can't thank the organisers of The Vic Park Summer Street Party enough for the hard yards and long hours that were obviously put in to create something very special.”
